Color Theory Project 8) Documentary on Dubai (Habib Awards)

For this project, we had to make a short film for the Habib Awards.
I chose to make a documentary on Dubai, so I took footage of Dubai, and filmed a few people I interviewed. I basically asked them, " What do you think of Dubai?"
The answers were all positive and great showing how Dubai is loved by everyone, especially those visiting!

Color Theory Project 7) Stop Motion Video

In this project we were assigned to create a stop motion video regarding our topic. My topic is poverty and my color is green. We had to include our color and the split complementary colors of our of color. So if you take a look at the color wheel, the split complementary colors are those opp your color lets say lime green, the complementarity color of lime green is red purple, so the split complementary colors would be those beside red purple, so the split complementary colors would be , purple and red.
This video didn't have to be narrative but i would like to explain the meaning of what I meant.
Basically this video is about a poor girl dreaming to become rich, and when she starts to get back to reality everything starts to disappear one by one.

Color Theory Project 6) Video Interaction 3 : Interview

In this video we had to interview some who has a relation with our topic. Mine being poverty, I interviewed the color theory professor at AUD, Sarah Lahti. She is working on a campaign regarding the poverty issue in Africa, and i thought it would be great to hear to hear her opinion since she was actually in Africa and witnessed the lifestyle and the poverty that Africa is facing.

I put 2 short cuts of the interview because I found them to be very important, and they showed the seriousness of the issue that people need to see.

Color Theory Project 5) Video Interaction 2

So again we had to make a video representing an issue, but this time we had to do it differently.
Close ups, 3 scenes , one showing the beginning , the middle, and the end. Basically a change in emotion. We also had to have our color in each of the scenes, and have de saturated backgrounds which made it REALLY HARD to accomplish.

Color Theory Project 4) Video Interaction 1

In this project, we had to make video representing an issue using one color, including a tint and a tone. I chose poverty, because it is a major issue in our modern world. With all the new developments worldwide, poverty is still found in many countries. Causing the death of young children along with people of all ages, due to the deprivation of food and water.I used the color green, because it shows a relevance, since green represents money in many countries.

Color Theory Project 3) Johannes Itten Star

The Itten Star is a complex color wheel constructed from 12 colors, each having a pure hue, 2 tints and, 3 shades.
Within the 12 colors:
Primary colors: Red, Blue, Yellow.
Secondary colors: Purple, Orange, Green.
Tertiary colors: Red orange, red purple, blue purple, blue green, yellow green, and yellow orange.

How to achieve this : Using only the 3 primary colors (R,B,Y), mixing these 3 in different ways you create the 12 hues. In order to achieve the tints, white must be added to the hue. To achieve the shades, black must be added to the original hue.

Color Theory Project 2) Josef Albers Color Interaction

Josef Ablers Color Interaction allows you achieve a sense of difference in colors using the same color. How to achieve this : For each category, use only one chip color on 2 different backgrounds.

The image above is an example of the difference in value. Here I used a green chip , to show the difference in value ( lightness or darkness). The chip on the left looks darker and more of a tree green while the chip on the right looks lighter like a lime green.

The image above is an example of the difference in hue. I used a red chip to show the change in color. On the left image the red chips looks red while on the right image the red chip looks maroon.

The image above is an example of the difference in saturation ( value and hue). Here I used a grey-ish looking chip. On the left image the chips looks lighter and grey. On the right the chip looks darker and blue.
